Tolkien Weekly - Questions
Jul. 15th, 2017 01:48 pmSo the tolkien_weekly comm doesn't seem to be over here at DW, or maybe I'm just no good at finding it. But I peeked over at LJ, and found out that I'd nearly missed the latest batch of prompts for the most recent challenge, which began on my birthday, May 29. I'd already completed the prompt "Who?" a while back when Emma gave it to me - I'm pondering what to do with the others. (Thank you to Linda Hoyland for the three new prompts, pondering them now!)
May 29 - Who? (Aragorn ponders the Three Hunters' strange observer)
Who was he who walked, cloaked in white, under the trees before them? Gimli the Dwarf believes him to be Saruman, which makes sense, Aragorn supposes. Saruman is the White, after all, and dwells not so far from Fangorn. Legolas eyes the White Wizard with suspicion, and Aragorn is on guard.
Who then? Not Saruman – or rather, he is Saruman as he should have been. Indeed, he is the White – but he is Gandalf, called Stormcrow, Ill-news, in Rohan. Gandalf renewed, Gandalf the White! Together with Gandalf, the Three Hunters find Isengard – and the Hobbits. Saruman, your staff is broken!
June 5 - What?
June 13 - Why? (Young Aragorn/ Estel asking why he is different from those around him.)
June 19 - Where? (Faramir and Eowyn debate where to hold their wedding.)
June 27 - When? (Arwen and Aragorn wonder when they might wed.)
July 12 - Which?
