Lent #2

So...yesterday I discovered that mom's not feeling appreciated enough. We both suffer from pain issues (her mostly because of age, me because of disability) and yet she and our roommate go to work full time during the week. I find myself couch-bound quite frequently because of my pain, but I'm going to try and push through it if I can, while I'm still theoretically mobile at least.

Today's readings are:

Psalm 118:25-26 English Standard Version (ESV)
25 Save us, we pray, O Lord!
O Lord, we pray, give us success!

26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
We bless you from the house of the Lord.

And

Mark 6:31 English Standard Version (ESV)
31 And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.

I'm reflecting on that now, and on humility again. My mentor says I need to focus on servanthood and drawing strength through Christ. I'll be trying my best. I know I can't do it on my own, but I need to learn to trust in Him. Still, it's also a good reminder that finding time to rest and be alone with God is important, too.

Good thoughts! Lent is a good time to remind ourselves to be more reflective and aware. The Mark verse is one of my verses I am keying in on this year. I'm also trying to find time to rest and spend more quality time with God.

Sorry about your pain, praying it improves!
