Title: Fishing for New Words (Net)
Author: Kaylee Arafinwiel
Characters/Pairing: Elu Thingol, Olwe, Cirdan. Mention of Finwë.
Rating:G
Warnings:
Book/Source: Silm/possibly HoME. Wherever Cirdan is called "Nowë" - I forget.
Disclaimer: Characters belong to Tolkien, I just play in his sandbox. Sometimes by Cuivienen.

“Elwë?”

The firstborn grandson of Enel glanced at Nowë, standing over him in the damp sand. He glanced down at the pile he had been making over Olwë, then back up.

“Uncle?”

Nowë gave his nephew a nod. “I would ask thine assistance, if both of ye shall come.”

Elwë dug Olwë out; the brothers followed Nowë. A tangle of green weeds, knotted intricately, was set in the water. “What wouldst ye call this?” Nowë asked.

“What purpose doth it serve?” Olwë asked Nowë, before a wave swept fish into the web.

Elwë hummed thoughtfully. Finwë would like it. “Natse.”
A/N: "Natse" is Qenya for "web, net". In 'modern' Quenya it's natsë.

I've commented over at the comm.
Just to note here, just in case it matters to you: historically "shalt" would not be correct, if it's about two persons ("both").

Well, I might have used "will" here, in an if-clause like that, but that's a different issue.
"Shall" is fine for two or several persons, yes.
